HoHoKus Dental Associates offers an internship program for students who plan on pursuing a Doctor of Dental Medicine/Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. As an intern at HDA, you will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge by learning from experienced dental professionals from all areas of dentistry. You will also learn how a front office functions and receive first-hand knowledge that will be valuable in your career as a dentist.

The length of our structured internship program is over a semester or a summer, but can be extended to a year or more upon review. In addition to experience gained through the program, our previous interns can be mentors throughout your journey of becoming a dentist. If you are interested in becoming a fellow teammate, please send a resume to confirm@hohokusdental.com.

Meet Our Current Head Interns

Caroline Quinn

B.S., The College of New Jersey

Caroline is a recent graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health. She grew up in Allendale, New Jersey and her family has been coming to HoHoKus Dental Associates since she was little. Caroline interned with us the past two summers, where she created educational materials for patients on sleep apnea, diabetes and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD). She is now a full-time intern and working on her applications for dental school. She continues to learn invaluable information that will greatly benefit her in the dental field.

Brittany Gordon

B.S., St. Johns University-Queens

Brittany worked at HoHoKus Dental Associates as the Head Intern while completing her pre-requisites for dental school in 2019. Brittany’s passion for dentistry was sparked during her undergrad career when she traveled to Honduras with the Medical/Dental Global Brigades (St. John’s Chapter). She was able to shadow dentists as they provided free dental care to underprivileged communities, some of which had never had access to a dentist before. She describes the experience as life-changing and extremely fulfilling. She feels HoHoKus Dental put her life into perspective and has given her the direction she needed. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to intern at such a prestigious establishment as HoHoKus Dental and looks forward to her future in dentistry.

Muhammad Anzar

New York University School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2023 MSc in Biomedical Sciences, Rutgers University

Muhammad Anzar completed his undergraduate studies in Canada. He then went on to obtain his masters in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University. During this masters program, he took a few dental school curriculum classes such as pharmacology, microbiology, and oral biology. He also conducted research in the department of Neuroimmunology. Since interning at HoHoKus Dental, Muhammad has gained tremendous experience within the field of Dentistry. This Internship Program helped Muhammad strengthen his application for Dental School. He has since recently been accepted to New York University, School of Dental Medicine, and will be starting this upcoming fall.

Sabine Page

Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, Class of 2021 B.S., Rutgers University-New Brunswick

Sabine worked at HoHoKus Dental Associates as an intern, and began dental school in August 2017. She began the internship in September 2015, and since then she has been a vital member of our team. She was involved in many dentistry related activities in her undergraduate career, and now spends her free time taking dance classes! Sabine says: “Becoming an intern at HoHoKus Dental has truly made me fall in love with dentistry. My job is challenging, but Dr. Varallo and the team make it lots of fun. I certainly feel ahead of the game!” We loved having you Sabine!

Jennifer Navatto

Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2020 B.S., Loyola University Maryland

Jennifer graduated from Loyola University and immediately began working as an intern at HoHoKus Dental. Her interest in dentistry allowed her to design projects that our office continues to use today. Being that she is from the New Jersey area, Jen applied to RSDM and was selected to join their incoming Class of 2020. Her hard work and determination were only a few reasons as to why Jen was a wonderful intern. We are glad she was a part of our team, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Jen!

Jay Naraine

Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Class of 2020 B.A. in Economics, University of Florida

Jay Naraine graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and completed additional coursework in Biological and Chemical Sciences. Heavily involved in research at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Jay conducted clinical studies to investigate biological and psychological factors that influence pain associated with Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD). In addition to dentistry, Jay is passionate about fitness and overall health. He was previously a volunteer as an Adaptive Gymnastics Coach for children afflicted with mental disabilties. In his free time, Jay enjoys playing basketball, powerlifting, and reading.

Madeline Conboy

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2019 B.S. in Business-Science, University of Notre Dame

Madeline Conboy worked at HoHoKus Dental Associates as an intern in preparation for her upcoming career as a dentist. She grew up in Ridgewood and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2013 with a science-business degree. She now attends Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Overall, her time with us at HDA was certainly one to remember, and our entire team is grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Madeline.

Kate Lew

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2019 B.S., Cornell University

Kate Lew worked as an intern at HoHoKus Dental Associates and now attends Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Her interest in the field of dentistry helped establish the internship program, and with her help, it has grown tremendously over time. She continues to excel in dental school and has contributed to the success of current and future interns.
